The most obvious questions will certainly revolve around what is preventing the claimant from holding a full-time job, but there are a number of other important topics that are focused on inside a disability hearing.

Knowing what will be asked of you in the hearing before you show up can seriously increase your chances of winning disability benefits. If you are able to provide answers with clarity and specificity, the hearing will be conducted in a much smoother fashion and you will appear much more credible.

Most people don’t want to delay their hearing since they’ve waited several months to appear in front of an Administrative Law Judge. But in some cases, delaying your hearing might increase your chances of winning disability benefits.

Certain disability claims are complicated. The medical evidence might be highly complex and often times, the procedural aspects of your case might also be difficult to understand. If this is the case, Administrative Law Judges frequently allow claimants to delay, or adjourn, their case so the claimant can seek representation.

As I’ve mentioned many times before on this blog, hiring a lawyer can seriously increase your chances of getting disability benefits. But when a Judge recommends that you hire a lawyer for your claim, it’s usually an indication that you should be represented by an attorney.

Out of this incredibly large number, The Social Security Administration denies about 70% of these cases. This number is discouraging, but there are things you can do to increase your chances of successfully winning your disability claim.

Relying on what you put in the application just not enough anymore. The disability analysts and Administrative Law Judges making decisions on each claim need concrete evidence to support your alleged disability.

Whether a person suffers from severe back pain as a result of a car accident, a sports injury, or just developed it over time, back injuries can seriously limit a person’s ability to function in the workplace.

Individuals who perform manual labor on a daily basis are obviously prevented from performing their daily work as a result of their persistent back pain, but back injuries can even affect a person who sits all day in front of a computer. For instance, if you need to take periodic breaks or you need to get up and walk around as a result of your severe back pain, this can be a major limitation and might prevent you from performing in a competitive 8-hour workday.

Severe back pain can limit a person in numerous ways and if severe enough, it can certainly rise to the level of disability. The Social Security Administration recognizes this impairment and if you have medical documentation to prove the injury, you are one step closer to winning your disability case.
