The Social Security Administration will see upwards of 4 million applications for disability benefits this year. The government is not going to approve all of them and the denial rate for initial applications is about 75% on a national level.
In most states, including New York, once you’ve appealed your denial, your case will be heard in front an Administrative Law Judge. These informal proceedings are beyond important. Preparation is key and properly testifying will determine whether you are approved or not.
